A.O.G. HALL OF FAME MUSEUM

SPORTS • ENTERTAINMENT • LEADERSHIP

Nominee Qualification Instructions & Selection Guidelines

1. Purpose of the Hall of Fame

The A.O.G. Hall of Fame Museum exists to recognize individuals whose accomplishments, service, leadership, creativity, courage, or influence have made a meaningful and lasting contribution in sports, entertainment, or leadership. The Museum seeks to preserve inspiring stories, educate visitors, celebrate achievement, and encourage future generations to pursue excellence, serve others, and build a positive legacy.

The Museum’s identity is rooted in the Christian meaning of A.O.G. — Armor of God — and the call in Ephesians 6:10–18 to stand firm in faith, truth, righteousness, peace, and perseverance. Recognition is intended to honor achievement alongside character, responsibility, service, and positive impact.

2. General Qualification Standards

  • Demonstrated achievement: The nominee has a documented record of excellence, accomplishment, service, innovation, or leadership in the relevant field.

  • Meaningful impact: The nominee’s work has influenced a team, organization, community, industry, audience, or broader public in a significant way.

  • Character and integrity: The nominee’s public conduct and documented record should be reasonably consistent with the Museum’s emphasis on integrity, respect, responsibility, and service.

  • Enduring contribution: The nominee has made a contribution that merits preservation and can serve as an educational or inspirational example.

  • Verifiable record: Accomplishments should be supported, where reasonably available, by credible records, published sources, awards, statistics, references, or firsthand documentation.

  • Appropriate category: The nomination must identify the Hall of Fame category that best matches the nominee’s primary contribution.

3. Hall of Fame Categories & Category-Specific Criteria

  • A. Sports Hall of Fame

    • Eligible nominees may include athletes, coaches, officials, sports administrators, athletic trainers, sports innovators, team builders, or other contributors whose work has significantly advanced sports.

    • Consider competitive accomplishments, records and statistics, championships, awards, coaching or developmental success, sportsmanship, leadership, community service, mentoring, and contributions to access or opportunity in sports.

    • Nominees should demonstrate that their impact extends beyond a single moment of recognition where the record allows.

  • B. Entertainment Hall of Fame

    • Eligible nominees may include actors, filmmakers, television and media personalities, comedians, performers, writers, producers, directors, or other entertainment professionals.Consider artistic or professional excellence, significant works, career influence, cultural or audience impact, innovation, professional conduct, charitable or community contributions, and the nominee’s lasting contribution to entertainment.

    • Recognition should be based on documented work and impact, not popularity alone.

  • C. Leadership Hall of Fame

    • Eligible nominees may include civic, educational, business, nonprofit, public-service, community, humanitarian, or organizational leaders.

    • Consider ethical leadership, measurable results, institution-building, public service, mentorship, problem-solving, innovation, humanitarian work, and sustained positive impact on people or communities.

    • Public officials and other public figures should be evaluated using documented actions, service, and outcomes rather than unsupported assumptions about personal beliefs or motives.

  • D. Cross-category and special contributions

    • A nominee whose work spans more than one field may be considered in the category that best reflects the principal contribution, or for a special recognition if the Museum has formally established one.

    • Posthumous nominations may be considered when the nominee’s record and supporting documentation meet the applicable standards.

4. Christian Mission & Values

The A.O.G. Hall of Fame Museum presents its work within a Christian mission and values framework. Nominees should be evaluated respectfully and consistently, with attention to documented conduct, integrity, service, and the example their story may provide to visitors.

The Museum should not make unsupported claims about a nominee’s faith, personal beliefs, or private life. If a specific recognition category has an additional faith-based eligibility requirement, that requirement must be clearly stated in the category rules before nominations are submitted and applied consistently. Unless such a requirement is expressly stated for the category, reviewers should assess the evidence relevant to the published criteria rather than speculate about private beliefs.

5. Eligibility & Review Considerations

Nominees may be living or deceased unless a particular category’s published rules specify otherwise.

There is no automatic entitlement to induction based on fame, wealth, public office, awards, or a personal relationship with the Museum.

A nomination is not a guarantee of induction. The Museum may defer a nomination when the record is incomplete or additional verification is needed.

The review may consider credible, substantiated concerns involving integrity, professional misconduct, abuse of position, or serious harm to others when relevant to the published criteria.

Unverified allegations, rumors, partisan disagreement, or personal animosity should not be treated as established facts.

The Museum may decline, defer, or revoke recognition when material information is shown to be false or when the decision is otherwise warranted under its approved policies.

6. Required Nomination Materials

A complete nomination packet should include the following, to the extent available:

Any known conflicts of interest or relationships between the nominator, nominee, and Museum decision-makers.

7. Review Process & Ethical Standards

The Museum or its designated committee will screen submissions for completeness and category fit.

Reviewers should evaluate nominees against the published criteria and the evidence provided, using consistent standards.

Reviewers must disclose personal, financial, professional, or family conflicts of interest and recuse themselves when impartiality may reasonably be questioned.

Confidential nomination materials should be handled discreetly and shared only with individuals involved in the review, except where disclosure is authorized or required.

The Museum may independently verify claims, request additional materials, consult qualified subject-matter reviewers, and conduct reasonable due diligence.

Final decisions are made by the Museum’s authorized selection body under its governing policies. The Museum may limit or decline explanations for individual decisions while maintaining fair and consistent procedures.

8. Permissions, Publicity & Use of Materials

Submitting a nomination does not grant the Museum permission to use a nominee’s name, photograph, likeness, voice, signature, copyrighted material, or personal story in every form of public display or promotion. The Museum will obtain permissions or licenses when required and will follow its approved release procedures. Nomination materials may be used for evaluation and recordkeeping, subject to applicable law and Museum policy.
